Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana I Housing For All Scheme I Application Form 2016

The Hon’ble President of India, in his address to the Joint Session of Parliament on 9th June, 2014 had announced “By the time the Nation completes 75 years of its Independence, every family will have a pucca house with water connection, toilet facilities, 24x7 electricity supply and access.”



In order to achieve this mission, Central Government has launched a comprehensive mission “Housing for All by 2022”. Earlier the scheme was titled as “Housing for All scheme” which was later converted to Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.

The scheme was launched on June 25, 2015, aim to ensure that 2 crore houses should be built in nation by 2022.

Features of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana

1. An interest subsidy of 6.5% on housing loans will be provided by government to the beneficiaries for a period of 15 years from the date of loan disbursement.

2. The subsidy amount will be taken from the treasure of central government which will further range between INR 1 Lakh and INR 2.30 Lakh.

3. The house allotted under the scheme would be only on the name of female member of the family. However, for the women empowerment first preference of allotment would be for female members

4. For the ground floor allotment preference would be given to older people and differently abled.

5. Every beneficiary would be entitled to an average amount of Rs 1 lakh by the Government under the scheme.

6. The scheme will provide financial aid of Rs 1, 50,000 to the beneficiaries for promotion of housing stock, however 35% of the housing units under the scheme would be allotted to the economically weaker sections of the society.

7. One can also avail the loan under the scheme for building toilets in the existing house.

In the new guidelines released by the housing authorities the development of the houses under the scheme would follow eco-friendly construction technology.

Since the number of applicants are huge the authorities has decided to start the online application process. The process is easy and one can easily fill in the forma and can also submit the form on an onlin mode.

Target Group of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana

Basically the target group under scheme would be the people living in LIG and EWS segments. Here find the brief details of the beneficiaries who can take benefit from the scheme-

1. Schedule Tribe
2. Schedule Caste
3. Indian Women belonging to any caste and religion
4. People belonging from economically weaker sections of the society
5. Families not owning a pucca house

EMI Calculation and Subsidized Interest Rates in Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana

The benefit of scheme lies in the fact that EMI paid by the beneficiaries would get reduced considerably. The housing loan industry currently working on approximately 10% of interest however, the scheme offers a considerably lower interest at 6.5%. That means you can save significant amount of your loan payment every month.

As of 25 April 2016, the government has identified 2,508 cities and towns in 26 states for beginning construction of houses for urban poor.

Jharkhand – 15 cities/towns
Kerala – 15 cities/towns
Madhya Pradesh – 74 cities/towns

Telangana – 34 cities/towns
Maharashtra - 52 cities / towns
Andhra Pradesh has been allotted 1.93 lakh houses under this scheme.

ICICI Bank launched credit-linked subsidy scheme under 'Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana'

 ICICI Bank collaboration with the central Government to disperse the loans for the people living under the below poverty line.  Under this the bank will offer easy loans to the financially weaker sections of the society. Under this collaboration an eligible customer will get the subsidy at 6.5% per annum on a maximum amount of Rs. 6 lakh or the loan amount, whichever is lower, for a maximum tenure of 15 years. The subsidy is computed on the Net Present Value method from the ICICI Bank.

Talking about the scheme, Rajiv Sabharwal, Executive Director, ICICI Bank said, “ICICI Bank is committed to support the Government's vision to provide housing for all by 2022. In line with this commitment, we have launched the credit-linked subsidy scheme of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana which reduces the EMI of the borrowers from the economically weaker section and low income groups. We believe that this scheme will empower a larger section of customers including women borrowers to realise the dream of owning their first home.”
